Why Transparency Matters: How We Report to Our Investors
Trust in real estate investing is built over time, through consistent communication — not through a single polished pitch. That belief shapes how we’ve built our reporting process at Steve Ford, and it’s worth explaining what investors can actually expect.
Every investor receives quarterly reports covering distributions, occupancy and leasing activity, capital plan progress, and relevant market commentary for their specific investment. These reports are built to be genuinely useful, not just compliant — written so an investor can understand exactly how their capital is performing without needing a finance background to interpret it.
Beyond scheduled reporting, every investor is assigned a dedicated relationship manager who is reachable directly for questions between reporting periods. We built the relationship-manager model specifically because we believe investors shouldn’t have to wait for a quarterly report to get an answer about their investment — timely, direct communication is part of what transparency actually means in practice.
We also believe transparency includes communicating bad news as clearly as good news. When a market shifts, a timeline slips, or performance falls short of projection, investors hear about it directly and promptly, along with our plan to address it not a curated update that only surfaces the positive. That standard is non-negotiable, and it’s a core part of how we’ve built long-term relationships with investors across multiple deals over time.
